About..

  • Harry's is an American company that manufactures and sells shaving equipment and men's personal care products via online and retail channels. The company is known for their subscription service where customers receive new razor blades, shaving cream, and other grooming products by mail. Harry’s was founded by Andy Katz-Mayfield and Jeff Raider in 2012. Harry's has established itself as a significant player in the grooming industry, known for its high-quality products, customer-centric approach, and innovative business strategies.

The Mission..

  • Harry's aim is to simplify the shaving experience by providing straightforward and transparent products. They focused on minimalistic design, a clear message, and affordable pricing. This approach, along with its friendly name, resonates with customers who were tired of complicated, overdesigned, and overpriced options.  We felt that the current logo was a bit too simplistic, not bold enough and certainly not unique.  A more interesting design, which is still minimal with a clever and interesting design will help draw more consumers. This will also allow the logo to stand out more from its competitors along with the use of colour psychology.

Our Process..

  • In developing the visual identity, we took a bold and clever approach that embodies contrast and minimalism. Removing part of the letter 'R' and making this into a shaving-stroke-motion immediately captures the essence of what Harry's does, adding distinction, depth and personality. In addition to this, Industry Inc Base font was chosen to seamlessly blending with the wordmark. For the wordmark logo to work with its design we adjusted the tracking and the thickness of the font. In addition, a bright orange color palette with contrasting green/blue was strategically chosen to make the brand stand out from its competitors. Orange evokes friendliness, and green and blue, trust and growth. Elements from the word-mark logo was used to design additional scalable logos to accompany the word-mark.
